Why continue suffering from lumbar radiculopathy?
We have a treatment plan for patients in Skokie.

At Regeon Bone and Body Institute, we combine Limfa® Therapy, physical therapy, and targeted strength training to address the root cause of your pain and restore lasting mobility.

Understanding lumbar radiculopathy

Lumbar Radiculopathy involves the compression, inflammation, or injury of a spinal nerve root in your lower back. The most common presentation of this is sciatica, where the irritation causes symptoms to travel down the nerve pathway into the leg.

This condition can drastically impair a Skokie resident's ability to walk, stand, or sit comfortably. Because the underlying problem lies in the spine (often a herniated disc or stenosis), treatments focused only on the leg are ineffective. Resolving radiculopathy requires targeted spinal decompression and core stabilization.

Shooting Leg Pain

A hallmark symptom is an electric shock-like or sharp ache that originates in the back and shoots down the buttock into the leg or foot.

Altered Sensation

Interrupted nerve signals can create odd sensations, such as numbness, tingling, or a feeling that the leg is 'heavy' or has 'fallen asleep'.

Motor Weakness

Severe nerve compression can lead to weakness in specific leg muscles, potentially causing conditions like 'foot drop' where it is difficult to lift the toes.
