Why continue suffering from sacroiliac joint dysfunction?
We have a treatment plan for patients in Waukegan.
At Regeon Bone and Body Institute, we combine Limfa® Therapy, physical therapy, and targeted strength training to address the root cause of your pain and restore lasting mobility.
Understanding sacroiliac joint dysfunction
The Sacroiliac (SI) joint connects your pelvis to your lower spine. SI Joint Dysfunction occurs when there is abnormal motion—either too much (hypermobility) or too little (hypomobility)—in this critical weight-bearing joint, leading to localized inflammation and pain.
For many Waukegan patients, this presents as a sharp, stabbing pain in the lower back or buttocks that makes transitioning from sitting to standing incredibly difficult. It is often misdiagnosed as lower back pain or sciatica, but requires targeted stabilization and alignment strategies to resolve.
Localized Deep Ache
Pain typically originates in the very low back or buttocks, often described as a deeper, achy feeling that occasionally shoots down the back of the thigh.
Transition Pain
The hallmark of SI joint dysfunction is sharp pain when shifting weight, such as rolling over in bed, standing up from a chair, or climbing stairs.
Biomechanical Imbalance
A joint that is either locked up or too loose disrupts normal walking mechanics, forcing surrounding muscles to overcompensate and eventually spasm.
