Why continue suffering from spondylolisthesis?
We have a treatment plan for patients in Geneva.

At Regeon Bone and Body Institute, we combine Limfa® Therapy, physical therapy, and targeted strength training to address the root cause of your pain and restore lasting mobility.

Understanding spondylolisthesis

Spondylolisthesis occurs when a vertebra slips forward over the one below it, often in the lower lumbar spine. This instability can compress nerves and cause chronic lower back pain, especially in active Geneva residents or older adults.

While the condition sounds daunting, most cases do not require surgery. The key is strengthening the deep abdominal and back muscles to stabilize the spine, reducing the load on the affected segment and preventing further slippage.

Structural Instability

A fractured or degenerated pars interarticularis allows vertebrae to shift, leading to a palpable 'step-off' in the spine and a feeling of looseness.

Muscle Guarding

To compensate for the unstable spine, surrounding muscles tighten up, leading to severe stiffness in the lower back and hamstrings.

Extension Sensitivity

Pain is typically aggravated by leaning backward (extension) or prolonged standing, which puts more shear force on the slipped vertebra.
